Sometimes, I get a long message about registering IDrive after I click on 'Login'. Why?

This message is to notify you that the IDrive application has been installed on another computer and that the same username is being used on this machine to login to your account. Multiple logins with the same username on different machines is not recommended; the exception being a system crash, when you may might want to install IDrive afresh on the machine to use the application again.

How is data encrypted on storage?

All data stored on the IDrive servers is encrypted using a secure key with a password known only to you. IDrive uses industry standard AES 256-bit encryption* on storage - ideal for higher security needs of Financial, Healthcare and Government organizations.

WARNING: IDrive does not store the user-supplied password anywhere on its servers. It is recommended that you memorize the password and take a hard copy and archive it in at a safe location. However, if you select the Default encryption option, there is no need to remember the password.

Without this encryption password, you will not be able to retrieve data.

To backup data from another computer, install IDrive on that computer and register the application again.
